My bot name is "Awebot".

[TELL]   [INC]   Pet: We regret to inform you that your name violates the Age of Conan Role Playing Naming Policy (http://support.ageofconan.com/article.php?id=75). The next time you log in with this character you will be prompted to rename it. Please be aware that this is your only chance to pick an appropriate name for this character. Further violations of the naming policy on this character or other characters on your account will result in a forced name change and possible account suspension. The name will be selected using a random name generator and you will not be able to change it.
[TELL]   [OUT]   -> Pet: I only listen to members of this bot.
[TELL]   [INC]   Pet: Your petition (I only listen to members of th...) has been received.

[TELL]   [INC]   Pet: You are sending too many messages to the petition system. You must wait up to 5 min to be allowed to communicate with the petition system again.

Suddenly I lost connection to game and was not able to log into the game or my account page.

Can I make the suggestion that Bebot is made not to respond to Pet.

 :'(

Edit: Managed to get back in game, tried "!ban add pet", but it won't work because you can't add Pet or a GM name to your ignore list.

Anybody else having trouble finding this document?

If you were on a roleplaying server then I can understand why a name like awebot would not be welcome and you might have been better off choosing something without the name 'bot'.

On a sidenote did any GM contact you on any of your real characters regarding the existence of the bot or was this just automated?

Haha ... good one  ;D

@smegger

As Yite said. On your place I would contact FC support on this issue so you'll not get a perma ban.

Whot is interesting is the ignoring/banning GM's.

@Yite

This document was lost during last months foruma "maintenance" (or shall I call it crash :P). Think I saw a post on general forums about it and moderator said that you can allways ask FC support to send you a copy  :D

This is exactly why I use a free to play account for my bot.
The downside is that guildies have to friend the bot before they can receive /tell from the bot.

Honestly, I see little to no risk.. afterall: http://forums-eu.ageofconan.com/showthread.php?t=141478

Why would funcom ban your account for a guild chat bot, that they support enough to sticky a topic on how to fix it for a patch?

Apologies for the excessive delay.

This is a valid bug, although ignoring "Pet" won't be wise as you could miss something important and end up banned altogether for not acting upon instructions.
I've established a bug over at https://bugs.launchpad.net/bebot/+bug/824705 and will try to have this issue resolved when/if I find some spare time.
