Using Raidbot as Guest channel
« on: April 07, 2007, 06:28:38 pm »
I've set up 2 bots, 1st is a guildbot 2nd a raidbot to use primarily as guest channel.

Problem I'm having is a lack of brains (mine are missing  :P), can't seem to get them to talk to each other...I can't find how to go about it on the forums, can anyone tell me what I have to do please...

Any particular reason that you don't just use a guild bot if the primary use of the raid bot setup is the guest channel?

The guild bot offers a guest channel trough Relay_GUILD.php (you need to run the command !relay after the bot is started to enable it tho).

If there's a special reason for you to have two bots for the same guild you need to look into guild relaying. Not 100% sure how that works myself tho.

Hope that helps.
The only problem that can't be solved by adding another wrapper is having too many wrappers.

Also... it usually makes more sense to use the raidbot for... yeah, raiding, and the guildbot's privategroup as a guestchannel. That way you do not need to relay anything between the two bots. If you want them to use the same base tables, you can use table prefixes, or just copy everything over once per day or so.

I kinda fail to see the point in using a raidbot as guestchannel... just turn on the relay of the guildbot. Command is "!relay". If you are raiding heavily and cannot just turn off the relay to turn the privategroup into a raidchannel, that's the point when you need a second bot, a raidbot.

I think I repeated myself... sorry, deep in the night here. :)
