SQL help.
« on: March 01, 2007, 12:20:06 am »
first thanks to everyone who works on this bot and the mods you all put out.
i am a complete nub for sql, bot is working great but im trying to get !symb and !pb to work. i had been trying to just copy and paste the sql files into my db folder then remove the .txt portion off the filename. areteh told me this wont work and that i have to actually import the files. so i downloaded
phpmyadmin
myimport
the phpmyadmin i have no clue what to do.
the myimport has a wizard im attempting to run.
ive looked on the web for a step by step guide, the myimport has one but it isnt addressing what i need.
does anyone know of a step by step guide i can DL or or look at? or is there an alternative to the 2 import programs i DL thats easier for new users?
thanks is advance for any help

Download a program called SQLYog and use that as a sql client, it's much easier.

Go into database, then:
Tools > Restore From SQL dump.

Post any errors if you need any further help.  (You'll need to refresh the database after restoring - which you do by pressing F9 in the root of the database).
