Online Hosting trough Webhotel ?

Hi, I was wondering if I could setup our org bot to run trough a webhotel with mysql and php support and also if this is possible how on earth do I do it ? I am a complete mysql noob and I dont even know how to edit the database I got Tongue

The general answer in your case is no.
Webhotels are usually just for that, hosting websites, and usually do not permit shell access (which is required), allow background processes to run (which is required), or have PHP configured in a way that allows the bot to be run (sockets support often disabled and memory limits enforced).

is there a way to host this via a server?


I mean, if I go out and buy space on a web hosting site for a website and forums, what should I look for to be able to also run BeBot from it?


Better yet, does anyont know of a web hosting company that meets the requirements?

What you need:
- Host with PHP (with sockets and gmp) and MySQL
- SSH access
- Permission (and ability) to keep processes running after logging out of ssh. (tools like 'screen' are great for this)
